FHE Photo Shoot
What do you do if you want to take family photos for your Christmas photos, but you don't want to bother anyone to take them for you? You use your camera and the remote of course.
After taking many, many shots, we got a few that were okay. We wouldn't recommend doing this. Ever.
Here are a few. This first one was the best one that turned out. They rest were really bad and unusable.
Then we decided to try and just do the kids. I would take the picture and David would make the sad kid (Truman) and the upset baby (Reese) and the bugged kids (the rest) laugh and smile. Oh, they laughed. A little too much. So they too were unusable.
This one turned out the best:
Here are a few one on ones I had to try after that:
This is how we ended the night.
Needless to say, we won't be using the pictures from this photo shoot for our Christmas card this year. Stay tuned for what we ended up doing. I pick them up at Costco in the morning. Conclusion:
Family Home Evening: entertaining
Photo Shoot: epic fail
Snow!
We had our first big snow storm last week. The morning of Saturday, November 9, we woke up to more snow than we have seen in a long time here in Provo. It made us want to put up our Christmas tree and start a fire. :)
This was our tree that shades our deck wonderfully every year for bbq's and playing outside. A bunch of branches broke off of it. Sad. We'll see how well the shade is come spring.
Graham and David shoveled all the snow so they could to make a snow fort. It turned into a sledding hill instead.

JFK
Every year, the 5th graders at the school hold a wax museum and pose as someone in history they look up to. Graham wanted to be John F. Kennedy. They each did a power point talking about their person. Last night all the parents were able to go see the museum. Today all the other kids at the school get to go see it.
"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
-John F. Kennedy
We threw his costume together throughout the week. And very, very last minute, I made some hair for Graham. President Kennedy had quite a bit more hair than Graham does. I grabbed the fur that I used for David's Halloween costume and we made a makeshift wig. One of the teachers asked Graham if it was a very old, antique wig. Graham laughed and said, "No, my mom just barely made it." haha. It looks pretty funny, but at least it gave him longer hair. :)
"Wait Mom! Take one more." This gangnam style (I might have had to check google for the correct spelling ;)) thing is super popular among those elementary kids.
Turkeys
Carmen needed to make a turkey at home for her turkey parade at school this week. She chose play-doh. Morgan wanted to craft with Carmen. So she made make a turkey too. I snapped a shot of them on the way out the door:

3 months old today!
And it's already hard to remember life without her. She's brought so much joy to our family already!

A Success
We had our primary program today. It went off perfectly. All the kids did such a great job singing and giving their parts. I sure love my calling. It's a privilege to serve in primary. :) it helps that I work with some great people too.
Chocolate Goatee
This is what happens when I get busy making dinner and talking on the phone. Truman found the Carnation Instant Breakfast in the pantry and ate it. By the looks of it, it tasted delicious!

Ethan's Baptism Day
We had such a good time at the baptism yesterday. The kids all play so well together, they were sad to leave. Yay for Ethan. Congratulations, Bud.
Poor Morgan. She's allergic to cats. She was playing with Becky's cats a little too much and it scratched her to get away. Then the scratches turned to welts.
Mom and Dad. Cuties.
Ivy and Reese. These guys are going to be besties. :)
Reese has the same swing as Ivy. Except hers doesn't have a fun elephant in the middle that Becky added. She loved to look at him. It was fun to see that she noticed something different.
David's growing a mustache......yeah, that's all I have to say about that.
Baptism boy.

Daddy's Girl
We spent the day in Honeyville today for our nephew, Ethan's baptism. It was great to be with some family. I snapped this shot and many more. More pics to come......
Our Happy Halloween
It was a busy, but great day on Halloween this year. We was busy baking, running errands, going to the parade at the school, and then spending the night with Sarah and her fam. Halloween is Sarah's birthday, so you will never see her not dressed up on her birthday. It's part of the celebration, to get into a costume. Last year she took first place in the costume contest at the Halloween Half Marathon. She went as Mystique from X-Men and looked AWESOME. This year once again, she didn't disappoint.
Everyone, minus me and Reese, at Sarah and John's Trunk-or-Treat.
Zipperface. She would tell people, "I've come undone."
Morgan staring at zipperface. Wondering how in the world Sarah did that.
Me, Reese, and the chicken.
Sugar! Like we didn't get enough that day. Here's my sugar cookies that I make Sarah every year. They're her favorite. John made her a pumpkin birthday cake with cream cheese frosting, all from scratch, I might add. Below are homemade maple bars that I made that morning for David and his cohort. Thank you Pinterest.
Reese at the trunk-or-treat. I didn't dress her up this night. I was just a little too tired. Plus she was in the Moby the whole time anyway and her costume would've been covered anyway.
Robber eating chili.
Graham being Graham. :) Telling me he had a slight headache. He didn't even realize that he was playing the Napoleon Dynamite role perfectly as I snapped this shot.
Chicken boy taking a break.
That night we headed home to our neighborhood and did a little more trick or treating. Graham, Carmen, and Morgan were then invited to hit a few more neighborhoods with the Harouni's (our sweet neighbors). They came home just before 9 super stoked because of all the candy they scored. It was a great Halloween in 2012!
