It Caught Me!
Well, I thought I was free and clear of this nasty bug. I thought both Morgan and I had gotten lucky.....until this morning. While I was cleaning up my sickly self in the shower, I heard a little person purging into the toilet. At least it was into the toilet and not all over somewhere else. We will be taking it easy today. I hope this is the end of the nastiness. And I apologize beforehand if anyone that has been around me gets sick, just in case I was carrying it and I didn't know it.

Feeling Appreciated
What do you get when you take care of a sick baby, young children, and a husband with a nasty flu bug, survive helping with the biggest RS craft night of the year with your ward sisters, wake up every 1-2 hours for two nights to assist little ones with the toilet, their bowls by their bedside, or their clothes and linens that were soiled with vomit?
You get a sweet husband who brings you home a beautiful bouquet of roses with a thank you note sharing how much he and the kids love and need you and a fun night on the town to your newly opened Hobby Lobby all by your lonesome***(see below). It was heavenly. Even though I was exhausted, it was so rejuvenating to get out on the town and have some time away. And now, I have these to look at all day long:
For me, just knowing I have a family who loves and needs me helps me realize, I have the best job in the world!
***I took Graham with me because he has been waiting to buy a robot toy he saw at a Hobby Lobby in another town months ago and had been saving his money ever since. I was so enjoyed the time with him. He had a blast too. I love that my 8 year old still loves to hold my hand and talk my ear off. He's great. And he was healthy and back to his old self again.

Truman, Also Known As....
- buddy
- Trume Trumes
- Trumie
- Mr. Truman
- little guy
- True
- froggie (got called this after he crawled at lightening speeds from the vacuum and actually looked like a frog)
Whatever we call him, all I know he has brought a lot of joy into all of our lives. We have never excperienced having a baby with older siblings who are actually old enough to enjoy every stage the baby goes through along with David and I. Until now. The kids have been so interested in this guy. I like to think that's why Truman is so pleasant. He really can feel the love. Man, it's been fun.
Zombies In My Pants
Morgan came up to me the other day and said, "Mom, I have zombies in my pants. Come and see!" Wha?! I had to see this. It wasn't until I was able to actually see what she was talking about that I understood. She lined up all her little chocolate treats into her handed-down-way-too-big-for-her-but-insists-on-wearing-them-anyway pajama pants (whew!). And she was so proud of her creation.

Out of the mouth of Morgan....
Morgan has been saying some pretty funny things lately. Here are a few examples:
*Today after rolling our neighbors garbage can back into place (we're caring for her house while she's in Disneyland), I said, "Okay, let's go home and put our garbage cans away now." Morgan, looking distraught said, "Wait! I thought we were going to tell Becky (neighbor) about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints?!" She must've thought we were going over for some visiting teaching.
*While cleaning up dinner, I heard the kids downstairs hooting and chearing about something exciting. Seconds later Morgan came running into the kitchen and said, "Mom!! We found Princess Believed It!" Our long lost VHS movie, Prince of Egypt. She's never seen it before, but judging on the way Graham and Carmen were acting, she knew it must've been something great.
Love that girl!

Intrigued
Truman has been intrigued by the new friend in the room. He can't keep his eyes off of him. Even while I was feeding him in his highchair in the next room, in between bites, he was stretching his neck just to get a glimpse. He has shrieked, squealed, and even rocked his body back and forth with excitement.
Pet Day at Preschool
Glowing Jack O Lanterns
I got this idea from Not So Idle Hands, and linked it to our blog Ziggy Crafts. We altered it a little bit because we didnt' have tissue paper in the colors we wanted, so we just painted the insides of the bottles. They are definitely more "homemade" looking, but the kids had a blast making them. After getting out all of our Halloween decorations, I learned we only had a total of four things. I swear I had more than that. Haha. So these guys are a great new addition. :)
Notice the red vampire bottle from the first photo compared to the bigger, red vampire, without a face in the other two photos? Yeah, Morgan was playing with the bottles and learned the hard way that the bottles break when dropped. She was so sad that she ruined Graham's vampire. When we picked up Graham from school she said, "Graham, I am sorry, but I broke your vampire." Graham shrugged and said, "Yeah, it figures." Carmen felt sad for him too and was determined to make him a new one. So after her homework, she painted him a bigger, better one. He now just needs a face.

First Tooth!!
One Man's Junk.....
...is another man's treasure. Is that how the saying goes?
Either way, the elementary school got new desks for 3 of their classrooms from a neighboring school. So their old ones went up for sale for $5 each! We got three. The kids think it's so cool to have a little piece of the school here in our own home. I think I will sand them down and repaint them to match their rooms and personality. But for now we are just enjoying our new treasure.

Solar Oven
The day after Graham picked up a DVD at the library about solar energy, his class learned about it at school! He was ecstatic that they made their own solar ovens (tin foil in a baggie). As a class they made s'mores. Then they got to bring their ovens home to experiment with other foods. Here Graham is opening his oven to check on his broccoli he placed in there that morning. I was actually quite surprised that it worked.....after many hours of sitting in the sun.
