Island Park 2013

We just got back last Saturday from a week in Island Park with David's family.  It was a lot of work, but so much fun.  From river rafting to walks on the beach looking for crawdads, swimming in the river, 4wheeler rides, great food, a movie night, staying up late to talk around the fire, Big Springs, Big Juds, fishing, etc....we had a great time.

Morgan Turns 7!

Just a few days after Carmen's birthday, we celebrated with Morgan on the 26th.  She turned 7!  We opened presents in the morning and then headed to the pool again.  We've really been enjoying the new Provo Rec Center.  That night, David and I took her out to dinner.  Out of all the places she wanted to go, she chose sushi!  She had had it before and loves it.  We ordered her a couple of the real mild rolls and she scarfed them up.  We then went to Toys R Us for her to spend her birthday money from her grandmas and grandpa.   She wanted to see Epic too, so we went home and David stayed with the little kids and she invited Graham and Carmen to join us.  After the movie, we had cheesecake, another one of her favorites.  It was a good day.  Morgan is so sweet and easy going.  We are lucky to have her in our family.  And I can't believe she's 7 already!  She's already talking about her baptism next year.  She's excited.

Carmen Turns 9!

Notice her Jeremy Warner shirt?  Carmen is a HUGE fan of Studio C on BYUtv.  Jeremy is in our ward.  He and his sweet wife, Catey are one of our primary teachers.  Carmen is more than thrilled to see him every week.  She even got his autograph the day before.  haha.   I think this may have been her favorite gift of the day.  ....just Jeremy....
We had a fun filled day on the 22nd of July to celebrate Carmen turning 9.  We opened presents in the morning and then headed to the pool to swim with her cousins.  Sadie and the boys were able to come too (they were headed back to Erie the next day).  That evening, David, Carmen, and I headed to dinner at Bajio and then to Blickenstaff's (a toy store).  We then went to see Epic at the theater.  Afterwards, we headed home for cake with the rest of the family and Granny.  Carmen loved her cake, even though my frosting turned out too thin and was melting off on all sides.
We are so happy to have Carmen in our family.  Lately I have been getting little glimpses into how she is going to be as a young adult.  She's a sweetie.

Purses

Reese sifted through the whole toy box and found two purses.  She was so proud of her find.

She's 11 Months!

As of Late

I've been bad.  I couldn't believe that's it has been almost two months since I blogged last.  Oops.  A lot has been going on with us.  We have been enjoying our summer a lot.  Here are a few things we have been up to:

*David is still commuting to Mt. Pleasant every day.  It was really hard on us, but it's getting easier.  I say that like I'm the one commuting.  David is such a trooper.  We went and looked at some homes up in Sanpete County, but we haven't felt like now is the time to move over there yet.  We would actually be saving money to stay here, so that's what we're going to do.  Stay here and pay off debt for a little bit.  We feel blessed David is still close enough to commute.  We may be changing our mind once the winter hits, but that's our plans for now.

*Graham had a birthday.  He turned 11.  Crazy!  David got the day off and we took Graham and his friend up to Lagoon for the day.  Just the four of us went.  We had a blast!  Graham has started 11 year old scouts and just went on his first overnight campout.  He helps me so much around the house and watching the kids.

*We've been swimming a lot.  The new Provo Rec Center opened this summer.  We got a 3 month pass and have really enjoyed it.  Graham and Carmen have enjoyed playing racquetball while I take the three youngest to the childwatch.  It's been a really nice facility.

*We headed to Rexburg for Charlie's baby blessing.  Almost all the family was there except for Sam.  And Sarah and John left a little early for other engagements.  We had a great time.  Ben and Sara's family was here from Arizona.  Dan and Sadie and the boys came from Pennsylvania, and Andy and Telaine came from Indiana.  We didn't think Andy was going to be able to make it to the blessing, but he surprised us in the church parking lot as we were walking in to church.  Tears were shed.  It was a good surprise.  Family time is really the best.

*Reese started walking a few weeks ago.  Everyday she gets a little more sturdy on her feet.  It will only be a matter of weeks that she will be running.  She's growing too fast!

And here are a few pics:
