Let's Learn Manners

Yesterday, we decided to attempt to take the kids to Mimi's Cafe. We love that restaurant and thought that if we went early in the evening, it wouldn't be too crazy with the kids. Before we left we talked to them about how we act in settings like these. Well, they did pretty good. Graham did great at talking to the waitress and giving her his order. Carmen was really excited about her fresh fruit that came with her meal, and Morgan stayed calm while she colored her place mat and grazed over all of our meals. It looks like we might be trying this again sometime.

Sneaky Photographer

It was "quiet time" and Carmen was playing a computer game.....or so I thought. I later found out that she was really playing photographer. Here are just a few of the many pictures she took after she found my camera.

Headless Dolls

Morgan loves to get the little princess dolls with the rubber clothes. But the funny thing is, she doesn't dress her princess in different dresses. She takes the dress off and uses it as an extra doll. She is more interested in the clothes than the doll itself. I hear her playing make believe and when I look to watch her, the dresses are doing all the conversing.

So hilarious! :) Why is it that everything that tastes the best is the worst for you?

I Have A Dream

Graham brought this home from school today. He has always said he wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

A Quote To Live By

"This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and non-existent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now."

Wrestlemania!

You would think that with Harvey being as huge as he is, he would go around being a little too rough for the kids. He is the total opposite. If anything, Carmen is a little too rough for him.

Excuse Me Table! I Didn't See You There!

Before church:
After church:
Yesterday after church I was gathering up the kids to go. David was in the clerks office helping with tithing. Carmen was running down the hall, way ahead. Graham left out a random door and said he was going to meet me at the car on the other side of the building and Morgan was trying to catch up to me, who was trying to catch up to Carmen, when she ran straight into a table sitting outside a classroom. The table was level with her teeth and top lip. One of her front teeth is slightly pushed back, the gums are cut and she has a fat lip. I hope that tooth with survive. I don't know if having church at 1:00 is my favorite thing. My kids were CRAZY!

A New Tag

I was thinking this would be a fun tag to do. Go to the Google homepage. Click on images. Type in your first and last name and post a couple pictures of people that share your name. Here are a few other Liz Thompsons in the world today:

I tag: Becky, Sam, Sarah, Pat, Sadie and anyone that wants to try it. It's fun! :)

Knitting

I have known to crochet for sometime and really love it. A couple of years ago Emily taught me the basic stitches of knitting. I liked it, only it took so much longer than crocheting, so I didn't pursue it. Last week in Idaho my mom got out her knitting needles. It sparked something in me. I have decided to try knitting again. Here is my latest project. It will be really cute if it turns out the way that it's supposed to. We shall see.

*UPDATE* I tried it and it was just too hard for a beginner, even though the pattern says it's easy. I have to get good at the basic purl and knit stitch before I attempt the cable stitch. Someday I will be good enough to do it.

My Worst Enemy

Graham got some new Floam for Christmas. Floam is a toy that consists of a bunch of tiny little balls that are stuck together. After he got it, I was finding little tiny balls everywhere! Stuck all over the kids, in Harvey's fur, and all over the furniture. This particular night Graham made a lightening bolt on his forehead and the girls had to follow is his footsteps. They all thought they were so funny. Notice their molding skills. Graham's actually looks like a lightning bolt, Carmen's so-so, but Morgan's ended up in the form of a ball.

A Little Crazy

Here is a little video for entertainment. You gotta love it! Anyone who knew me growing up knows that I was crazy about Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder. I have mellowed out a LOT, but there is still a die hard fan inside me somewhere. This was performed in 1998 for a video promoting their new album Yield.
So I admit I was a little crazy and a little obsessed, but as teenagers weren't we all a little weird anyway??

Girls Night Out

We have officially changed the name from "book club" to "girls night out". We do talk about books, but the majority of the time is talking about other things. We have decided to do most of our book talking on the our book club blog. Even those that don't like to blog have agreed.
Lisa hosted last night. It was a great time. I love you girls. We missed all of you that couldn't make it and welcome to Charity. See you all soon.
